The SQL CREATE INDEX statement is used to create indexe in tables. Indexes allow the Database Application data find fast.

The Index can be created in a table to find data more quickly and efficiently.
The Users cannot see the indexes, only they are just used to find queries.

INDEXES Example

Syntax:
CREATE INDEX Index_Name
ON 
Table_Name (Column_Name)
The SQL statement below creates an index named "Name_Index" on the "S_Name" column in the "Student_Detail" table.
Example Statement:
SQL> CREATE INDEX Name_Index
ON Student_Detail (S_Name);

UNIQUE INDEXES Example

Syntax:
CREATE UNIQUE INDEX Index_Name
ON 
Table_Name (Column_Name)
The SQL statement below creates an index named "Name_Index" on the "S_Name" column in the "Student_Detail" table.
Example Statement:
SQL> CREATE UNIQUE INDEX Name_Index
ON Student_Detail (S_Name);
